I'm not a big tea fan, but because of Stash Teas I just might become one! {{Review}}

Recently I sent an email to the Stash Tea Company. I let them know that I absolutely loved their tea and at the end of the email I asked if they would be so kind as to send a sample of their favorite flavor of tea, because I've tried a few of their flavors...but definitely not all of them, or perhaps maybe a coupon.

As the title states, I'm not a huge fan of tea. I'll drink sweet tea during the hot summer months, and a hot cup of tea every now and then. I gave up drinking coffee nearly 3 years ago, so I've been looking for a tea that I could drink in place of the coffee, and I have found that Stash Tea is what I have been looking for.

I was surprised when I received a reply! It was short and sweet, but they let me know that I would be getting samples to try. I was so excited when it came in the mail, I opened it up right away!

This is what I found. 4 individually wrapped tea bags in different flavors.

I have to be honest, I wasn't sure that I would like any of the flavors...but I decided to try the Strawberry Pomegranate tea & boy am I glad that I did! It smells AMAZING, and tastes even better! Even after trying just this one flavor from the samples I am hooked. lol I will be buying more boxes of this flavor ASAP.

My oldest daughter tried the Ginger Breakfast blend. She loved that one, I however, didn't care for it very much. It was okay, but not something I would drink. I even let her use my mom's old coffee mug. Anyone that knows me knows that we don't use "meme's" special mug often.

Overall, I absolutely love their teas and will be buying more from them in the future. If you are looking for a new tea to try, I recommend you give them a try! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I received 4 samples of Stash Tea because I asked for it. I am not required to write a review, but I wanted to, all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

{{Book Review}} A Heart's Danger- Book 3

On the brink of war with the Sioux, Sarah risks everything to expose the betrayal threatening the man she loves.

Christmas is coming, and the air at Fort Laramie has turned cold . . . but relations with the Sioux have turned colder. As tensions between soldiers and natives approach a tipping point, a trap has been set for Rand Campbell.
Rand's new fiancée wants to keep him from returning to Sarah Montgomery . . . for whom his heart clearly still yearns.

Sarah just wants to move on with her life at Fort Laramie, but doing so under the watchful eyes of both Campbell---the man whose love she craves---and Croftner---the man whose lies have cost her everything.

Will Rand fall victim to the conspiracy and go through with his wedding? Or will he declare his love for Sarah and make good on the promises that brought her into the rugged western territories?

*My Review*
"A Heart's Danger" is book three of this series. I found myself reading this book as quickly as I could, just so I could find out just what would take place next for Rand and Sarah. This is another quick read. I actually liked this book more than the first two. I wish it were all one big book though, but that's just because I don't want to wait for the next book to come in! Overall this series is really good so far. I can't wait to start reading book four.

If you are looking for a nice read, then you might just want to check this series out!

Seamless Savings- Like No Hassle Saving?! Read Here!

Always having people tell you to save money? People like Dave Ramsey and the like who specialize in saving money and paying down debt? Are you busy with life and work that you need someone else to save you money?

Well I(Clay) came across a site through someone else called Digit. I've always tried saving money in the least invasive way and started looking into this company. I've emailed them and read their FAQ while doing a little digging into how it works.

What is Digit?

Digit is a free, yes free, program that analyzes you spending habits, both regular and irregular, any predicted bills, and a few other calculations to determine how much you can save. It then makes a calculated transfer from your checking account into a FDIC insured account provided by either Wells Fargo or Bofl Federal Reserve. The transfers it makes are hardly noticeable.

How does this work?
You will need to sync digit to your bank account and all it does all its magic for you. Every few days, Digit checks your spending patterns and moves a few dollars from your checking account to your Digit account, if you can afford it. Easily withdraw your money any time, quickly and with no fees. The withdrawals are posted the next business day.

You can get daily or weekly texts telling you what your checking account and Digit balance is currently sitting at. You can also request the last 3 transactions posted to your checking account.

With all that being said, I was a skeptic. Seemed too easy, but having researched it and been a member for a little bit it's a great way to save money that you didn't even know you had. So far in a few days I have $1.43. Even with my very irregular spending habits.
Feel free to sign up here:  https://digit.co/r/bMHI6?wn

Disclosure: I will receive $5 if you decide to sign up. This isn’t why I wrote about digit– I honestly think this is awesome tool that will help me (and you) add money to our savings account and be completely hassle free.

Who's the New Kid?: by Heidi Bond {{Book Review}}

In Who's the New Kid?, Heidi Bond, a self-described "ordinary mom," shares her story of how she helped her daughter overcome childhood obesity. She provides helpful insights and practical tips, equipping families to help their children establish healthy habits as well as lose weight. Bond's hope for her new book is "to shine a light on the truth surrounding childhood obesity, to let other families know that they are not alone, and to show the world that childhood obesity is 100 percent reversible and can be reversed in less time than you might think."

At nine years old, Breanna Bond weighed a whopping 186 pounds. Just walking up the stairs to her room was a challenge. Her legs chafed to the point of bleeding from rubbing against each other, and her school days were filled with taunts of "Hey, Fatty!" Breanna's mom, Heidi, was devastated and wondered, How can I get my daughter healthy again?

Who's the New Kid? shows readers how Heidi helped her daughter lose weight without the aid of fad diets, medication, or surgery and how other parents can do the same with their kids.

In just over a year, Heidi's plan worked! Breanna dropped 40 percent of her body weight and was transformed from a morbidly obese child who spent her days in front of the TV eating chips and chocolate to a vibrant, healthy, energetic little girl.

Filled with helpful diagnostic tools, easy-to-make recipes, eye-opening nutritional information, fun exercise ideas, and practical tips and advice, Who's the New Kid? will not only show parents how to help their kids lose weight naturally but also introduce them to simple, yet effective lifestyle changes that will benefit the entire family.

*My Review*
"Who's The New Kid" is a story of weighloss, but it's about a child. I have three daughters, none of them are overweight, but I thought it would be a good book to have handy and read. I'm not disappointed, it's a great book for those wanting to lose weight(or help their child(ren), but not know how. It includes meal plans, shopping lists, and more.

I said it once already, but I'll say it again, it's wonderful book packed with lots of info. I recommend this book.

{{Book Review}} When Grace Sings

Alexa Zimmerman wonders if the Old Order Mennonite community in Arborville, Kansas will ever fully accept her. Her family roots here aren’t what anyone thought when she first arrived, but she is hopeful that her culinary and hospitality skills will win the skeptics over. The bed-and-breakfast she’s operating needs to succeed so Alexa agrees to allow Briley Forrester, the hotshot reporter from Chicago, to stay as a long-term boarder not knowing his real motives for being amongst the Plain folk.

But when Alexa agrees to host her cousin Anna-Grace Braun, the presence of extended family brings out Alexa’s insecurities and sets Briley on the trail to uncovering a web of hidden truths.

Plans for a secure future and the sweetness of young romance hang in the balance when Alexa and Anna-Grace have to face that their secrets are interconnected, binding the two in ways they could not have imagined. They must trust in a loving, heavenly Father and His plan for their futures.

*My Review*
"When Grace Sings" is the second in the series & while I did not read the first book, I was able to easily follow the storyline of this book. This is a fast paced book that gives an interesting insight into the lives of the Mennonite people.  Kim truly has a way with words, and I hope to see another book from her soon. I recommend this book(and the series) to anyone looking for a good read.

{{Product Review}} Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk Hint of Honey Vanilla

You don't have to be lactose intolerant to enjoy almond breeze, but if you are, you are in for an extra-special treat. With only half the calories of milk, almond breeze is big on taste, and light on calories.

I was given the chance to review Blue Diamond's "Almond Breeze Almondmilk Hint of Honey Vanilla", I'm not a big fan of milk to begin with...never have been. I just don't like the aftertaste it leaves, and since having my youngest child I have been lactose intolerant.

I admit...I was a bit skeptical at first because I didn't know how almond milk would taste.

When the almond milk arrived, I put it in the fridge to chill & then my girls and I each had a small glass of it. They loved it just like it is, I however...didn't care for it at first. I added a bit of chocolate milk mix to it and it was awesome! It had just the right about of honey/vanilla flavor to go with the chocolate

If you haven't tried this almond milk, I suggest you give it a try.

I am member of the Snuggle Bear Den, and I occasionally receive products to try for free in exchange for my honest review. This was the first time I actually received anything from Snuggle.

I absolutely LOVE the scent of these dryer sheets! They have such a strong smell you can smell them before opening the box and the scent will fill up an entire room just sitting in the sealed box!

When using these dryer sheets they actually help add just a light subtle scent to the clothes.I have to becareful of which brand of dryer sheets we use, because I have skin irritation as a result, but so far I haven't had any issues.

I absolutely LOVE the whole Snuggle brand & highly recommend them! If you haven't checked out these new dryer sheets, you should def do it! They smell amazing.

{{Book Review}} Never Say "No": Raising Big-Picture Kids

The question Mark and Jan Foreman are most often asked is: How did you raise your kids?

Never Say No takes you on a personal journey to learn first-hand how they raised Jon and Tim of Switchfoot. They share practical advice for instilling wonder in a media-saturated culture, cultivating specific gifts, and balancing structure with individual choice. Our purpose as parents is the same as our child’s: to live creatively beyond ourselves, bringing the love, beauty and nature of God to this world. Let the adventure begin.

*My Review*
There are many Christian parenting books out there but not many that take us through the imaginative and inspiring parenting world of YES. Mark and Jan Foreman’s new book “Never Say No: Raising Big Picture Kids” is by far one of the best parenting books I have read.

The basic theme of the book is that God is one big "YES" for us, and we want to "pay it forward" to our own Children.

This is a book that will challenge you to connect with the heart of your child and enjoy raising wise young people who will one day leave your home well-rounded and ready to take on the world!

This is a book that every parent should read!

{{Book Review}} Untangled

Think you'll never measure up? Think again.

We all want to feel valued. We crave approval and acceptance in the eyes of family, friends, and even strangers. But when we seek confirmation that we areenough using the world's standards, it seems like we always fall short. *My Review*
The way Carey Scott writes with such truth it almost felt like as if she were sitting in my living room and talking with me! Her words of encouragement from Scripture have helped me define and tackle my tangled heart. This is a book that I would recommend to everyone!

{{Book Review}} Heart Sisters- A MUST read for ALL women!

Heart Sisters is for women who want to both be and have better friends and want a helpful guide to take them through the process.
Author Natalie Chambers Snapp uses her own and others' stories of successes and failures to illustrate what she has learned about girlfriend relationships. Healthy boundaries, honesty, tact, sharing, and agape love all play a part in being and maintaining a circle of close confidants. She also deals with the inevitable challenges that face many relationships including how to handle conflict; life changes like a new baby, move or divorce; and when it is right to "break-up" with your friend.
Discussion questions, space to journal, photos, and quick interviews of healthy female friendships are included within each chapter.

*My Review*
"Heart Sisters" is a book that every woman needs to read. As women we are wired for relationships, but there are times when we seem to lose that need as we dive into being wives and mothers.

In this book Natalie reminds us that having good, solid relationships with other women are needed and that it's okay to schedule that time with a heart friend. Natalie also offeres helpful tips to know when a friendship isn't healthy, and ways that you could take steps to heal it, or to walk away. This really is a great book!

Each chapter has some discussion questions for you to think about, and there are also spaces to write your thoughts. I also wanted to add that I very rarely EVER give a book 5 stars...even if I really love it, because I feel like if I give every book a 5 star my readers won't think my reviews are true to life and authentic

To Win Her Favor {{Book Review}}

A gifted rider in a world where ladies never race, Maggie Linden is determined that her horse will become a champion. But the one man who could help her has vowed to stay away from thoroughbred racing forever.

An Irishman far from home, Cullen McGrath left a once prosperous life in England because of a horse racing scandal that nearly ruined him. He's come to Nashville for a fresh start, hoping to buy land and begin farming, all while determined to stay as far away from thoroughbred racing as possible. But starting over proves harder than he'd wagered, especially when Maggie Linden's father makes him an offer he shouldn't accept yet cannot possibly refuse.

Maggie is certain that her mare, Bourbon Belle, can take the top purse in the inaugural Peyton Stakes, the richest race ever run in America. Maggie only needs the chance to prove it. To give her that chance---and to save Linden Downs from being sold to the highest bidder---Maggie's father, aging, yet wily as ever, makes a barter. His agreement includes one tiny, troublesome detail---Maggie must marry a man she's never met. A man she never would have chosen for herself.

*My Review*
I was shocked to see a Christian author going the route of writing books that are explicit and not clean. I've read a few of Tamera Alexander's books in the past and they are so awesome and full of history that I would normally recommend..but this book has just gone a bit too far. Just because it's true to life doesn't mean it can't be written in a less graphic way.
I am quite disappointed in this book, and if Alexander keeps writing like this, I won't be reading anymore of her books.

About the author:

Tamera Alexander
is a best-selling novelist whose deeply drawn characters, thought-provoking plots, and poignant prose resonate with readers. Having lived in Colorado for seventeen years, she and her husband now make their home in Nashville, Tennessee, along with their two adult children who live near by. And don't forget Jack, their precious---and precocious---silky terrier.

Summer Fun @ Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts in New Braunfels, Texas

* Toddlers and Tweens in Tow: Schlitterbahn is designed to have something for every age - inland surfing on the boogie bahn is very doable with a lesson or two, splash zones are designed to be safe for the littlest guests. With free life jackets and kids tubes even cautious moms can feel safe.

* Green before Green was cool: Schlitterbahn, which was born on the banks of a river, has always been a steward of the water in the park. 98% of the water is recaptured, filtered, and reused all season. Our new resort in South Padre is built out of wood reclaimed from the wildfires that took place in Austin (more on our sustainability efforts here)

* Waterpark Survival Tips:

1. Swim shoes or flip flops - Schlitterbahn parks are among the largest in the nation, and that means that invariably there will be some hot spots without shade or outdoor carpet. Wear some sort of water worthy shoe. 2. Suncreen - Water rides remove the best in sunscreen. Apply, ride, repeat.
3. Pack a lunch - Schlitterbahn allows ice chests, but no glass or alcohol. Make sure to pack some favorites but leave room for park specialties like funnel cake and turkey legs! We have a fun check list here and a neat post on being SchlitterReady here.

1) Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is our flagship park and is America's #1 waterpark for 17 years and has won awards for the best waterpark, best waterpark ride, and best new ride.

2) Schlitterbahn has been the birthplace of nearly every waterpark ride innovation including the world's first uphill water coaster and the inland surfing ride, the Boogie Bahn.

3) Every park has a claim to fame:
* New Braunfels: World's longest tube ride; America's Favorite Waterpark
* South Padre: World's first Transportainment system where interconnected rivers are queue lines for rides.
* Galveston: World's favorite indoor park
* Kansas City: Midwest's longest tubing adventure, and home to the World's Tallest Waterslide

{{Book Review}} Side By Side

Part of New Hope® Publishers' contemporary missional fiction line,Side by Side opens the reader's eyes to the life of Muslims in Sudan as well as some of the struggles that Christians face when living under Islamic law. The reader will be inspired to pray for those who are persecuted for their faith as well as pray for the salvation of those who persecute.
In the dusty, Islamic country of Sudan, Mia's life collides with that of another young woman. A young Christian American mother, Mia finds more than one dark secret on the streets of Khartoum. She finds Halimah, a young, upper-class Arab student with a bright future in her family's business whose risky and secretive decision has put her life in danger. What happens when the path of young mother intersects with that of a spunky Sudanese student? God transforms them both . . . forever.

*My Review*
"Side by Side" is a book that I won't forget very easily. It is an interesting book that is defiantly eye-opening. It showe the perspectives of both a Muslim woman and an American woman living in Sudan and how they're paths eventually cross.

The spiritual content of the story is wonderful as some of the characters share their faith while Halimah learns and reads on her own, too. There is so much prayer involved.

There is a bit of  a suspenseful feel to the story because  you don't know if/when Halimah could be found out or the risks Mia and Halimah take in sharing their faith.

recommend this book if you are wanting to know more about the many persecuted Christians find themselves in or what living in an Islam-controlled country would be like. It's a good reminder to pray for all involved.

Many times while reading this book, I would stop and just pray for one of our American Pastor's, Saeed Abedini who is in prison right now(and has been for the past several years) because he refuses to deny Jesus.
