{{Book Review}} Once Upon A Summertime

She's looking for her big break. She never imagined it would depend on a blast from her past.

Managing the Value Lodge in her hometown was not what Anna Gordon had in mind when she set out in the hospitality industry. But it's a safe choice for a young woman starting out her career.

Then, out of the blue, she gets the opportunity of a lifetime: a chance to reinvent herself and reinvigorate her career by moving to New York City. She applies for a management position at a stylish new hotel, The Rothsberg. But the city is full of surprises--not the least of which is discovering that Sean O'Neil, a once-upon-a-time crush, has applied for the very same position.

This sweetly romantic tale of dreams come true takes you through the storied streets of New York City--and into the depths of the human heart.

"A hard-working girl finds her happily-ever-after ending in Melody Carlson's heartwarming tale. Readers will cheer Anna's journey as a summer of new beginnings becomes a summer of unexpected love."--Lisa Wingate, bestselling author of The Prayer Box and The Story Keeper

*My Review*
When I started reading "Once Upon a Summertime", I really liked it. Carlson's writing style is different enough the other novels I've read. I really  enjoyed the conflict and struggles that Anna had at work. When she got to New York, I was excited to see what sort of challenges she would be up against at her new job.

For me, "Once Upon a Summertime" started out interesting. I like the hotel management aspect and the conflict that it resolved. Once the romance started, I found it boring & annoying, especially when the hotel part got pushed to the side as a result. And the ending was completely wacky and didn’t match up to what the story was building up to be.

Of course this is just MY opinion. Just because I didn't enjoy it 100% doesn't mean my readers won't enjoy it. If you like the mushy romance books, then you might just enjoy this one!
