{{Product Review}} Is The "Coobie" REALLY The World's Most "Comfortable" bra? + Violet Love Headband

I recently posted about something called a "Coobie", & The Violet Love Headbands..because I made that post, I was sent a "coobie" and violet love headband in exchange for my honest review.

*About the Coobie*
"Coobie Seamless Bras are ultra comfortable and versatile without sacrificing style. These affordable, stylish bras are seamless, one-size (comfortably fits 32A through 36D), available in 10+ styles and 50+ fashion colors and patterns. There is also a full size that fits 38-42D."

*About Violet Love Headbands*
"Violet Love Headbands are no-slip no-headache headbands that are perfect to wear for yoga, pilates, or just as a stylish accessory. They are made from Premium quality fabrics that are buttery soft and super comfy."

Now....on to my review. I may get backlash because of this review, but oh well...afterall, I was sent these items for my HONEST opinion & I don't really like to sugarcoat stuff.

I was sent a "full" sized coobie in a random color of their choosing. I was sent a navy blue coobie(See Below).

I was super excited to open the package up and try this baby out! I was hopeful that it would be something new I could sleep in. It says the "full" size fits up to 42 "D-DD"....yea...sorry...it must be the smaller end of the "D-DD" cup.

It fit great except for the cup area. My "girls" felt like they were being squished, so much so that they ached after taking the coobie off.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by my Victoria Secret bras, but wearing the coobie(even for a small amount of tim) made me feel like I had a "uni-boob" thing going on & that's something I cannot deal with.

I thought it would be nice to sleep in, but I couldn't stand to leave it on for more than 15-20 mins. I hate to say it, but I am very unhappy with the coobie, and the way it looks/fits. Just because I don't like this product, doesn't mean you won't.

Now, on to the Violet Love headband...I'm going to be as gentle as I can be with this review.

*Thin version*

*Wide version*

I was sent a random Violet Love headband, so I had no idea what it would look like. I was hoping it would be a decent color/pattern, but sadly...it was not. I don't personally wear headbands, but I thought my 12 yr old might like it. Sadly, she is out of the "girly" and all things pink stage...but that's okay! I have two younger girls who LOVE this headband.

I did try this headband on, and I didn't like it. It kept slipping off of my head. For the purpose of this review, I let my 4 year old wear it while I took pictures. She wasn't thrilled about using is as a headband, but LOVED it when I let her wear it as an infinity scarf.

This headband honestly looks like someone just cut a strip of spandex and put their "label" on it..anyone could do that. I didn't find anything fantastic about this headband and I certainly would not pay $17 + tax/shipping for something I could make myself. So, once again...I feel like I must say, just because I didn't like this product...it doesn't mean you won't.

I was sent the above items free from U.S. Family Guide, ShopCoobie.com, & violetloveheadbands.com in exchange for my honest opinion. I am not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

{{Product Review}} House of Doolittle Meeting Planner & House of Doolittle 3-Month Vertical Compact Wall Calendar

Hey everyone! It's been a few days since my last post, but I've got some AWESOME new office supplies to share with you! Thank you Shoplet & House of Doolittle for sending me these amazing items.

First I'm going to show you is the 8 1/2 x 11 "House of Doolittle Meeting Planner".

When I signed up to review this, I thought maybe I could use it to keep track of my blog posts that need to be made, etc. but when it arrived, I realized that it's not exactly what I was looking for. I was bummed that I wouldn't be able to use it, and then I had an idea! I asked my husband if maybe his boss could use it. He said "I'm sure he can, I'll show it to him and ask him".

Well, yesterday he handed it to his boss and told him that I was sent this planner to review, but then realized I wouldn't be able to use it. His first reaction is "okay, but I already have a planner..." and then he opened it up and looked inside and then said "wait...this one is NICE! I'll take it! Thanks!"

This really is an awesome planner, and anyone who has a lot of meetings would greatly benefit from this planner. I absolutely LOVE that it is used from recycled materials!

100%  Recycled products, 100% post-consumer paper, 100% made in the USA(a HUGE plus for me!), 100% recycled covered, 90% recycled wire, & everything in the book is printed with soy inks.

In this picture, you can see where there is a page where you put in your personal info.

These pages are where you input your meeting info like, Date, start time, topic, meeting attendees, notes. There are also "Action Items", which include the action that needs to be done, the dute date, and the status. There is also 6 month calenders on each page(Jan-Jun on one page & July-Dec on the other).

On the very last page there are 12 month calenders for 2016-2018.

Even though I couldn't get use out of it, I'm glad my husband's boss can. I high recommend this planner to anyone who attends and is in charge of a lot of meetings.

The second item I have to show you is the "House of Doolittle 3-Month Vertical Compact Wall Calendar". I love that it has 3 months per page. I'm horrible at switching to a new month, so now with this new calendar I don't have to worry about not flipping the page every month!

As always, don't forget to shop Shoplet for all of your office supplies, office furniture, cleaning supplies & medical supplies.

I received the above listed items from from Shoplet & House of Doolittle free in exchange for my honest opinion. I am not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Don't Be A Foolish Parent | Cell Phone & Internet Safety

When my husband and I decided that we would give my oldest a cell phone for her 12th bday(she ended up getting it a month early), we didn't take it lightly. We decided to give her a phone that way she could keep in contact with friends/family out of state. We didn't just give her the phone and say "Here, have fun with it...do whatever you want"...THAT would be just plain foolish. We sat her down before we actually gave her the phone and went over groundrules, which were;

We made it VERY clear to her that this is NOT her phone. It was paid for by my husband(and myself) and having this phone is not a right, it is a privilege that can be taken away.

  1. You get the phone ONLY after doing your schoolwork(we homeschool) IF you have a good attitude and not complain about that day's assignments.
  2. WE(my husband and I) keep the phone after 8pm on week nights & 9PM on the weekends in OUR bedroom on the charger.
  3. My husband and I have the right to look at the phone whenever we want to. The ONLY people to know the passcode is my daughter, my husband and myself & NO ONE else.
  4.  If at any point we(my husband and I) feel she is not responsible enough for this phone, we can & will take it away.
  5. NO cell phone/tablet usage during meal time and family time. Using proper phone etiquette and keep it turned off in church, restaurants and quiet settings. and not rudely play on the phone in social situations.
  6. My daughter is to let us know immediately if someone she doesn't know tries to text or call her(Yes, She knows about the dangers of sexual predators and all that stuff. My mom drilled it into my head when I was allowed to get on the computer when I was 12 yrs old, and we have talked to my daughter about it).
  7. You never send mean or inappropriate texts to anyone. If someone sends mean or inappropriate texts to my daughter, she is to tell us immediately.
  8. You I never take embarrassing(or inapproriate) photos of yourself, your friends or family.
  9. We made sure she understood that this phone will be taken away if she violates any of these rules. We also made sure she understood that her phone may be taken away if she breaks any other rules in the house that require punishment. Mostly we wanted her to understand that we love her and only want what is best for her. Always.
Once these rules were understood and agreed upon we went into the store and purchased the phone and placed her our on plan. We have been getting a lot of backlash from others, saying my daughter isn't responsible enough, & that we don't monitor her. My daughter isn't your typical 12 year old....I mean in some ways, yes...she is, but she is way more responsible than most grown "adults".

LET THIS BE KNOWN....WE.MONITOR.EVERYTHING she does, yet we respect her rights to privacy(which yes, a 12 yr old DOES have). These rules apply to her cell phone, computer/tablet usage.

I proposed a new idea to my husband which was this; instead of letting her use the phone after school work is done, allow a certain amount of phone time for each chore she does(without having to be reminded to do it or complain about). She has 4 chores that we have assigned her with.

  1. Load/Unload the dishwasher
  2. Take out the trash. We have valet trash pickup, so we literally place our trash can outside of our front door and they pick it up. She takes turns with this chore with her 6 yr old sister.
  3. Keep your room clean. I'm not the type of mom that acts like a drill Sgt. If her room needs picking up and she hasn't done it...I remind her. She knows where things belong in her room, so if something is out of place...I don't wreck her room and make her clean it up, I show/tell her where it belongs.
  4. Help with the laundry.

{{Book Review}} A Shenandoah Family Christmas | "As the death toll rises throughout the Colonies, the Reed family prays for more than one Christmas miracle."

{{Book Review}} | A Shenandoah Family Christmas

Where is Christmas?
Disease, freezing temperatures, and the Revolutionary War bring bitter reality to the Reed home in December 1777. Captain Benjamin Reed is ordered to sail a supply shipment south to General George Washington. Days before Shenandoah’s scheduled departure, Ben’s first mate succumbs to smallpox.

Rebecca Reed had never feared the dreaded disease until her one-year-old daughter Felicity breaks out in the telltale rash. In the cold, dark days of Advent, Rebecca, Ben, and the Reed family wait in prayerful hope as Felicity fights for her life and they wonder who could be next.

With the rest of the family at risk, they decide to obtain the forbidden cowpox vaccine. Ben's brother Jonah, his uncle Isaiah, and Shenandoah’s cook Adam Greene venture off in search of the outlawed vaccine. A blizzard hits. A tree crashes. Jonah crumbles to the ground. A woman with the face of an angel aids Jonah, but is it too late? And where are Adam and Isaiah?

As the death toll rises throughout the Colonies, the Reed family prays for more than one Christmas miracle.

*My Review*
I've never read anything by Lisa Belcastro before, but the description of this book peaked my interest. I received this as an ebook(which I don't usually read). Let me just say this, once I started reading....I litereally couldn't put it down!

"A Shenandoah Family Christmas" is a novella, but still a great read & is part of a series, but I think it was great as a stand alone.  Since this is novella, I was left wanting to read more. There aren't many Authors that peak my interest, but Belcastro is one that I am interested in reading more from.

I feel that there is so much potential for the development of the characters, I love that there is a great focus on God and prayer. I loved everything about this book; the plot, the storyline, and  especially the old fashioned charm.

I received this ebook free from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. I am not required to write a positive review, All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

{{Product Review}} AdoramaPix 8x12 Glossy Metal Print

Back in October I made a post about AdoramaPix turning your Digital photos into metal prints. Because I made that post I was given credit to get my own metal print. I chose the 8x12 glossy print. I chose to do the express shipping because I wanted it in time for Christmas.

It was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday(16, Dec), but I didn't have the email saying it had shipped, so I made a call to them....and a very kind, and helpful customer service rep said that the metal prints were on backorder and I should be getting my print sometime next week even thought I chose express shipping. She offered to refund my shipping, but I told her it wasn't necessary because I used my credits. I thanked her for the info and we hung up.

Yesterday I received the "your order has shipped" email. When I opened the email I saw that they were sending it overnight and I would be getting it today. It arrived this morning and it is so beautiful, and well worth the wait.

I honestly wasn't sure how it would turn out, not because of them..but because of how I created the image in PhotoShop. They took this simple image and created something amazingly gorgeous out of it. Once we purchase our new home, this will be placed in the foyer. This piece will be cherished forever.

Their website it extremely easy to navigate & their items are well priced. This 8x12 glossy print is $32.00, which I don't think it too much...esp for the quality of their work. Together with shipping this item would have been $62.00, but thanks to U.S. Family Guide & AdoramaPix my final cost was $0.00 <3 I opted for no hanging option. I'll post a photo of the back of the print below. It has a stand that can be pulled out a bit, which is what I will do.

The words in the box say: "Always kiss me goodnight.
laugh, hug often. Together always & forever. BE: Kind, Hones, Happy
Keep your promises. I Love You. Trust. Always listen. Have Faith. You are my best friend. Love each other. 831. Two shall become one. Create a lifetime of memories"

To say I'm say I'm satisfied with my metal print from AdoramaPix would be an understatement. I am blown away with the quality of their work. I will never use another company for any of my printing needs. I will be a customer for life!

I received the above product FREE from U.S. Family Guide & AdoramaPix in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

{{Book Review}} The Wedding Chapel | For sixty years, a wedding chapel sat silent, waiting for love. But times have changed and the hour has come when it just might be too late.

For sixty years, a wedding chapel sat silent, waiting for love. But times have changed and the hour has come when it just might be too late.

Retired hall-of-fame football coach Jimmy "Coach" Westbrook never imagined anything would come of his labor of love---the wedding chapel he built for Collette Greer, the woman he fell for back in '49. But now an offer has come to turn the chapel into what it was meant to be---a place for love---and Jimmy sees no reason to hang onto his dream any longer.

Photographer Taylor Branson is trying to make a life for herself in New York. Leaving her hometown of Heart's Bend, Tennessee, she put a lot of things behind her, including her family's abysmal marriage rate. But love surprises her when she falls head-over-heels for Jack Forester, a top ad man. Their whirlwind romance results in an elopement, and a mountain of doubt. Jack, while genuine in his love for Taylor, can never seem to overcome his own demons to find the words of his heart.

When Taylor takes an assignment in Heart's Bend, the job does more than send her back to her hometown, but into a world of family secrets buried beneath the sands of time.

When Taylor's journey intersects with Coach's, they rediscover the heartbeat of their dreams and that the love they long to hold is right in front of them. And worth every waiting moment.

*My Review*
I've never really been a fan of "Dr. Who", but I thought maybe the books would be better than the show I grew up watching(not the new stuff). I have to say that this book isn't the best, at least not for me...but my husband and 12 year old will enjoy it. This is going to be a Christmas gift for my 12 yr old.

Just because I didn't care for this book, doesn't mean YOU won't, if you are a fan of the Dr. then you might want to check this book out for yourself or for that book lover in your life.

Christmas is one of my FAVORITE holidays, so when I was given the chance to review items for winterland.com I jumped on it. I love our previous ornaments from last year & our PINK tree(sadly this will be our last year with the pink tree), but I couldn't wait to get new ornaments.

I browsed their site, which is very easy to navigate. The only problem I had was trying to figure out what I wanted! I needed something that would go with out PINK tree, but also any other tree we get in the future.

Here are the ornaments I ordered from winterlandinc.com

Here's how they look on our tree!

Some close up shots of our new ornaments, as well as 3 that we bought for our girls last year.

*My Review*

I absolutely LOVED A.M Heath's "Where Can I Flee",so I was excited to read the second book in this series "In the Shadow of Thy Wings". I felt like I was on one big emotional roller coaster while reading this book. A.M. Heath is such a wonderful author, she has a way of making the characters in the Civil war seem so real that it will make you feel like you are really there.

If you are looking for a good read, check out A.M Heath's "Ancient Words" Series. Make sure you read "Where Can I Flee"(Book 1) before reading "In the Shadow of thy Wings"(Book 2).

The Ancient World Series: Book 1 | Where Can I Flee?

War is on the horizon during the spring of 1861. It will be an event that will change the lives of everyone in its path. The Harper family included.

Frank Harper is a young man full of dreams and ambitions. Even when the country is split and war breaks out, Frank will do whatever is necessary to see his dreams come true, even when that means putting on a uniform and leaving home.

For the first time, Claire Harper is forced to consider the reasons behind such a conflict. Should slavery be abolished? Which side should she be on, and what does God have to say about this? Claire is torn between her own opinions and those of her family. The struggle within her only increases when she repeatedly runs into a kind and handsome Union soldier. She longs to see her brother turn to Christ before it is too late. Desperate to reach her brother with the gospel, Claire pens a series of inspiring letters. Will she be able to handle all the obstacles of war and continue to be a witness to those around her?

How long can Claire last when her heart is torn in half and she is burdened for her brother's soul? How long can Frank resist his sister's urgent pleas or the gentle tugging from within? Can a man outrun a holy God?

*My Review*
"Where Can I Flee" is the first book in the "Ancient Worlds" series & the first book I have read by A.M. Heath. This book is full of everything needed to make a  wonderful story. The characters are true to the historical time period so much that you are drawn into the Civil War era.

I esp love how A.M. Heath uses this story to present the gospel of Christ Jesus.  I recommend this book to anyone looking to read a wholesome book.
