When Zeke and Julia are pushed to their limits both personally and professionally, will their history put up walls between them or bring them together?

*My Review*
"Someone Like You" is a heart warming story. The story moves along well, I never found myself wanting  a chapter to hurry up and end so I could be done with the book, like I have with others. Bylin created a very diverse range of Christian characters with different levels of faith. As you read about each character's struggles they seem come to life on the pages. "Someone Like You" is a wonderful romance for everyone.

if you enjoy romance books you might enjoy this one.

The more than 125 inventive, repertoire-building recipes in Plated will help you cook and eat food you love without having to think so hard about it. Every dish here will work no matter how much (or little) time you have to cook, whether it’s quick dinner on a Monday for two or a backyard barbecue for a crowd.  The recipes are all rooted in a core technique—think One-Pan Roasted Chicken, Slow-Simmered Turkey Chili, or Cheesy Baked Penne—but can also be customized according to peak produce and just what you’re in the mood for. Step-by-step prep instructions and menu ideas take the stress out of cooking, so you know exactly what to do and when. Here, too, are ways for you to stretch these recipes, like basic marinades and spice rubs that can be used on almost anything, reinventions for leftovers, big-batch make-aheads, company-worthy feasts, and perfect sides. Platedis sure to become a well-loved, sauce-splattered staple in your kitchen.

*My Review*
Before this book I had never heard of the food delivery company, Plated, but apparently the idea behind it is to provide people with fresh, pre-portioned ingredients + chef-designed recipes so that anyone can make their own meals at home, and so far this book seems to reflect that philosophy.

The book is divided into the following chapters:
-Kitchen Basics (what to stock in your pantry, "kitchen commandments," knife skills...)
-Weeknight Dinners
-Great For Leftovers
-Make Ahead
-Weekend Feasts
-For A Crowd (recipe menus include...Date Night, Sunday Supper, Weekend Brunch, Backyard Barbecue, and Thanksgiving Dinner!)
-On the Side
-At the End

In "Plated" you learn how to make all sorts of different spice rubs, marinades, dressings, sauces, and infusions, recipes for side dishes, and desserts & so much more.

There's an appendix at the back with a seasonal produce guide and glossary. Each recipe includes a short intro, serving size, the ingredient list and the instructions.

The lessons from that struggle are powerful and universal, and she shares those lessons in her new book, Hunting Hope. {{Book Review}} Hunting Hope | Hope is not an accident. Sometimes it has to be hunted, and hunting it takes courage.

Hope hunters know how to excavate hope from hardship. There is dirt underneath their fingernails and sweat on their shirts. They rake through the rubble of an unwanted situation, digging into difficult circumstances because they have come to expect that adversity will produce good. They believe that light always triumphs over darkness. They have learned to walk through winter with their eyes on spring.

Nika Maples became a hope hunter after suffering a massive brainstem stroke that left her quadriplegic in her twenties. Doctors warned that she had as little as 48 hours to live, and---if she lived at all---she would never walk or talk again. There was no hope on the horizon. So Nika started to hunt for it. Today, she not only walks, but she speaks to audiences everywhere about the power of hunting hope when a situation appears hopeless. She says hope remains camouflaged in the daily mundane. If we are not looking for it, we will miss it, though it is right before our eyes.

Whether you or someone you know is going through a situation that feels hopeless, you will find encouragement in Hunting Hope. Whether you are experiencing a medical trauma, a financial hardship, or a relational crisis, you will find empowerment in Hunting Hope. As you read, you will cling to 20 truths about God's character and practice 5 daily disciplines that will develop your own character in crisis.

You will become a hope hunter.

Maybe it doesn't matter what causes suffering in our lives as much as it matters what suffering causes in our lives. Maybe we were all meant to be hope hunters.

*My Review*
This was my first time reading anything by Nika Maples, but she hits the nail on the head wit the difficult subject of trials and suffering and shows that all hardship can be used for the glory of God.

She portrays the character and nature of God well by using detailed scriptural references and her own personal experiences.
If you are wanting to grow in relationship with God,then you should read this book.

{{Product Review}} Large Labels from Label Daddy

These labels are super durable peel-and-stick washable labels -- they're washer/dryer safe, microwave safe, dishwasher safe and UV resistant! Label Daddy labels are also fun and attractive. You design your own labels! Pick from tons of colors, sizes and logos, including Disney and Marvel characters, MLB, NBA, and NHL team logos, other sport and fun logos, and more. These labels are made in the USA and shipped directly to you worldwide.

*My Thoughts*

This was my Fourth time ordering from Label Daddy. The first two times I ordered address labels for my oldest daughter, the third time I ordered address labels that said "The Carney Family" & our address, but time around I decided to use my $30 credit to get labels for my husband.

The large labels are all purpose labels. They are 2 3/4 x 5/8 in size. You get 45 labels in each pack and they are $20.00. I chose to get them laminated for $4.95 more.

He loves basketball and the Dallas Mavericks are one of his fav teams so I went with this design. I didn't want to get address labels for him because he doesn't send enough mail to really use them. I decided to get the large labels that way he could use them at work to put his name on his locker, and other items, as well as use them here around the house.

{Large Labels}

I didn't tell him I was ordering these because I wanted to surprise him. The day they arrived I waited until he got home from work and handed him the package and told him to look inside. When he pulled them out he was so excited.

Label Daddy is the ONLY place I will order any type of labels from.

Save 25% on your entire Label Daddy order - this is the best discount available anywhere. Use code USFAMILY25 at checkout. www.usfamily25.labeldaddy.com

{{Location Review}} Water Works Water Park in Denton, Texas

This was our third year going to water works & our first time going with all three of my children. we absolutely love Water Works. It's a smaller water park, but perfect at the same time.

We were given free passes, 4 bottles of water, free locker rental & a cabana. I think it was super generous of them to give all of that.

We didn't really do much this time around. I wasn't feeling well, so my husband and I relaxed in the cabana while our girls played in the kiddie area(we could see them at all times), but I did go in the lazy river once with my oldest daughter & it was fun.

There isn't much more for me to say about our trip to water works. I will say that Caroline & all of the other employees were super sweet and helpful If you are looking for a fun place to bring the kids during the summer, be sure to check out Water Works in Denton, Texas!

Below you will see some pictures from our day out.

{{Product Review}} Long May She Wave: 100 Stars and Stripes Collectible Postcards

From one of the world's leading graphic designers comes a stunning tribute to America's most enduring icon-the Stars and Stripes. The Revolutionary Congress resolved in 1777 that "the flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white, that the Union be 13 white stars in a blue field representing a new constellation." Since that time, the American flag has been raised high in wartime triumph and peacetime celebration; burned in fervent protest; sewn lovingly onto quilts, caps, pillows, and bags; appropriated by the commercial sphere to sell goods as varied as cigars, and designer clothing, and rock-and-roll albums; and faithfully honored every 4th of July to celebrate America's independence. This collection of more than 3,000 Stars and Stripes artifacts ranges from Civil War-era banners and Native American braided moccasins to an early 20th-century "friendship" kimono and original flag art by several of the world's leading designers. In its deluxe format with over 500 illustrations, LONG MAY SHE WAVE gives wide berth to the flag in all its manifestations, and the result is a stunning visual history of America'¬?s most treasured symbol.Full-color throughout, with over 500 illustrations in a deluxe 11 x 14-inch volume-LONG MAY SHE WAVE is the perfect gift for folk-art appreciators, history buffs, and collectors.Features the 3,000-piece exhibit that was displayed at the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the San Jose Museum of Art in 2000. {{Book Review}} Sister Dear | All Allie Marshall wants is a fresh start. But when dark secrets refuse to stay buried, will her chance at a new life be shattered forever?

Convicted of a crime she didn't commit, Allie watched a decade of her life vanish --- time that can never be recovered. Now, out on parole, Allie is determined to clear her name, rebuild her life, and reconnect with the daughter she barely knows.

But Allie's return home shatters the quaint, coastal community of Brunswick, Georgia. Even her own daughter Caroline, now a teenager, bristles at Allie's claims of innocence. Refusing defeat, a stronger, smarter Allie launches a battle for the truth, digging deeply into the past even if it threatens her parole status, personal safety, and the already-fragile bond with family.

As her commitment to finding the truth intensifies, what Allie ultimately uncovers is far worse than she imagined. Her own sister has been hiding a dark secret---one that holds the key to Allie's freedom.

*My Review*
I have always enjoyed a good mystery. "Sister Dear" is the first book from Allie McNeill that I have ever read before. This book is told from five different viewpoints to give the reader several perspectives. This really helps in developing the characters. The thing that I didn't care for was that the book jumps around between viewpoints quite a bit and jumps back and forth between past and present....but McNeill did an excellent job of indicating when this happens and what time period that you are reading.

The setting for "Sster Dear" is in south coastal Georgia. The way the McNeill describes it will take you to the islands and you can feel the breeze blowing as you read. There is definitely a twist between two of the characters that I didn’t see coming(which was fun). I would recommended "Sister Dear" to those those who like  Mystery & Suspense.

{{Book Review}} The Inheritance | The death of the clan patriarch has thrown the tiny Shetland Islands community of Whale's Reef into turmoil.

The death of the clan patriarch has thrown the tiny Shetland Islands community of Whale's Reef into turmoil. Everyone assumed MacGregor Tulloch's heir to be his grand-nephew David, a local favorite, but when it is discovered that MacGregor left no will, David's grasping cousin Hardy submits his own claim to the inheritance, an estate that controls most of the island's land. And while Hardy doesn't enjoy much popular support, he has the backing of a shadowy group of North Sea oil investors. The courts have frozen the estate's assets while the competing claims are investigated, leaving many of the residents in financial limbo. The future of the island--and its traditional way of life--hangs in the balance.

Loni Ford is enjoying her rising career in a large investment firm in Washington, DC. Yet in spite of her outward success, she is privately plagued by questions of identity. Orphaned as a young child, she was raised by her paternal grandparents, and while she loves them dearly, she feels completely detached from her roots. That is until a mysterious letter arrives from a Scottish solicitor. . . .

Past and present collide in master storyteller Phillips's dramatic new saga of loss and discovery, of grasping and grace, and of the dreams of men and women everywhere.

*My Review*
This is my first time reading anyting from Michael R. Phillips, but I have to say he brings this multi-generational family saga to life. In this book we basically step into an ancestral story with a big mystery. This book is a whopping 92 Chapters in 428 pages! I loved being immersed in Scottish culture. You can definitely pick up on the Scottish dialect in the story through Phillips' writing. Two thumbs up to Phillips for that! The descriptions and prose are absolutely wonderful. Mr. Phillips is a genuine master storyteller. This is a saga I will continue reading, "The Cottage" releasing this October.
