{{Book Review}} Doodletopia |Manga

The world's bestselling author of drawing and cartooning books, Christopher Hart, will show you all the interactive, artistic possibilities offered by doodling, designing, and coloring using characters, scenes, and crafts from the world of manga in Doodletopia: Manga.

Unlike other doodle books that leave you stranded, with no help at all, Doodletopia: Manga pairs fun doodle-based activities with the sort of insightful (and laugh-out-loud funny) advice and tips that countless readers have come to expect from cartooning master Christopher Hart.

From dressing up super-cute chibis to designing your own manga mazes to completing manga scenes and making manga-inspired crafts like bookmarks, stationery, and more, the opportunities for creative expression are endless. So what are you waiting for? Pick up your pencils, pens, markers, or crayons, and start doodling!

*My Review*

My almost 13 yr old daughter LOVES to draw, and she's REALLY great at it. She has always been creative, even as a toddler...so it's no surprise that she is an artist(and wants to go to art school after HS).

Doodletopia: Manga by Christopher Hart is the PERFECT book for her. She loves to draw Manga & little Chibi critters. Now, I've been hearing about Mr. Hart getting backlash for a section of his book called "My mean stepmother", and are removing the page(s)...which I think is 100% silly for people to be getting to bum hurt by.

I'm sorry, but I seriously laughed when I saw these pages. There is NOTHING wrong with them whatsoever. Below you will find photos of these so called "horrible" pages that are SOOO offending.

{The text on the first "offending" page. Also note that I have highlighted the part where Mr. Hart explains that NOT all step-mothers are this way. You can click on the photo to make it bigger if needed.}

{full photo of "offending" pages}

I am NOT a step"mom" but I did HAVE a step-mother once upon a time(she passed away many years ago). NOT ALL STEPMOTHERS are mean in fact....some are great.

To the people who are so offended by Mr. Hart's book, why don't you 1) step back, 2) check yourself and then 3) realize that CINDERELLA, SNOW WHITE & even RAPUNZEL had "evil stepmothers"...yet people aren't giving them backlash for portraying stepmothers as "bad" or "evil".

Mr. Hart, if you happen to see this. Please know that our copy of your book will stay 100% intact & we will continue to get your books for MY artist daughter!
