Nichole Nordeman's new CD "Every Mile Mattered" + Giveaway (Continental U.S Only)

I remember listening to Nichole Nordeman when I was a teen. I loved her music. I am SO excited to share this CD with you, my readers!! Her newest album is called "Every Mile Mattered". I have two absolute favorite songs on this CD, & they are the very first song on "Every Mile Mattered" & the last song called "Slow Down" (from her "Unmaking" album that was released in 2015)

As soon as I received the email saying I was confirmed to review the CD I went to youtube and searched for some of her new songs. "Slow Down" is a SUPER emotional song, but it is amazing.

my girls and I listen to it in the car (and not in the car). My 7 yr old (who has HFA) has already memorized every word of "Slow Down" and sings her little heart out. It has quickly become our new favorite CD to listen to.

I think everyone should have this CD!! I will be giving away a copy to ONE (1) winner! Will it be you?

Have you ever heard any of Nichole's songs? if so, what is your fav song?

*My Review*
I recently received the invite to read "Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most". I'm a mom of 3 girls (13, 7, & 6). I opened this book as soon as it came in the mail.

There are nights when I just cannot sleep. I toss & turn, I browse facebook, Pinterest etc. Basically, I do ANYTHING but sleep. Now on those sleepless nights, I can read this book. It's very important for parents to pray for and over their children. I've tried to instill the love of Jesus in my girls from an early age. This book has 6 parts to it.  Each part has 4 specific prayers. Each prayer offers a short quote, a scripture, devotional, list of prayers you can personalize by adding your daughter's name, "just for moms" & girl talk.

"Girl Talk" gives you an activity to do with your daughter. I love that the book includes something for "little" girls, "Middle" girls, & "Older" girls

If you have a daughter (granddaughter, niece) you need this book near your bed!

Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch | Pilot Point, Texas

This post is sponsored by U.S. Family Guide & Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch. I am not paid for this post, but I did receive free passes for myself and my family in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

My husband and I went to Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch in Pilot Point, Texas. I emailed them last week to schedule our visit for today.

It's located about an hr from our house, so we had to leave early so that we could get there before the rush of visitors showed up.

Parking is $5, but because I was doing a review...we didn't have to pay for parking. We also received a ride on the safari tram ride, barrel train ride, all the animal exhibits, and presentations. The only thing we actually had to pay for was feed for the animals. They are $3/bag or $10/4 bags.

We only stayed for the Safari Tram ride because it was so hot & the girls were getting tired.

Before the tram ride, we got to feed and pet a few animals...including a miniature horse named "Cowgirl", a sweet old lady donkey named Greta (she likes to lean into you & give hugs), a 1 yr old camel named Emma.

The staff there are super friendly & very knowledgable about the animals & will answer any questions you may have.

We will definitely be back when it cools off. I honestly love this place more than the zoo....because you get to be up close and personal with camels and other animals that you wouldn't be able to see like this at a zoo!

Below you will find a few of my favorite photos from today.

How my cube saved my life...

Anyone who (REALLY) knows me knows that I'm from a little town(village) in SW Louisiana. I think the last time I heard there were 800-1000 people (I'd sure like to know where they hide them all at).

They don't even have a red light & you have to get your mail delivered to the post office, anyway...you get the point...it's small.

I've always been a nervous driver, especially in heavy traffic. I learned to drive when I was 12, in an old '53 GMC Chevy truck on back roads, but *legally* I've been driving since I was 20.

I moved from my small town to a military town on the east coast, drove a little...but was still scared. When I got married, we lived in Texas for 6 months while my husband was in tech school. I never drove bc of the traffic. I'd either stay at our apartment and see him whenever he was allowed to leave the base or *shudders* I'd ride the bus to the base to see him.

After tech school, we moved back to the east coast to another military town. I was comfortable driving there...mostly. I'd usually stay on base, so I knew my way around there pretty well.

My husband retired from the military 4 yrs ago & we moved to the D/FW AREA & in the 4 yrs we've been here I had never driven 5 miles past my house because...1) Texas drivers are crazy, & 2) my anxiety was through the roof.

Well, We recently purchased a 2017 Pathfinder. For whatever reason, we had to go back to the dealership to re-sign the contract. On the 3rd time, we had to go in and sign the paperwork, my husband mentioned to me that he wanted to purchase a pre-owned vehicle for me...so I started looking. First I saw a pre-owned Pathfinder, then a Murano...and then...a Metallic Blue Nissan Cube. I immediately walked over to the cube and fell in love. when our sales agent came back out to see us, I jokingly said "I want it", to which he said, "Okay, let's go run numbers".

After we talked with our sales guy, we were taken over to finance and sure enough...I was able to purchase my Cube for $0 down and take it home the same night.

Now, at first I was nervous to drive because of traffic, but the next afternoon I wanted to take my 7yr old to Toys-R-Us to get something, but my husband was at work...so I called him and let him know that I was going to drive there. He suggested that I wait until rush hour was over, but I went during rush hour and it felt amazing to drive.

Surprisingly I wasn't nervous about driving in traffic. I've gone to Dr's appointments and other places on my own in my cube.

I even drove home to SW, La on with my 13 & 7 yr old to see my older sister & my dad, then to Hattiesburg, Ms all without my husband in front of me leading the way.

It may seem like something small to be proud of, but to me it's huge. Check out,my new baby! I love this car so much.

Our sales agent called a few weeks after we purchased the cube, and we started talking and I found out the story behind the cube & while it was for sale.

It was owned by a lady who has/had cancer & it was only driven to and from her treatments...which is why it had such low mileage. It may seem silly, but I have felt a really strong connection to this car & to now know the story behind it I understand why.

Have you ever had a vehicle that you have felt this way about? Tell me the story!

{{Book Review}} Dragon Seed | An angry teen, a desperate mother, a missing father, and a shadow lurking in the background.

*Disclaimer* I received a copy of this book free to review. I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this book.

Things were going from bad to worse for Nick and his family. Tempted to run away after yet another argument with his mom, Nick receives a handwritten, leather-bound copy of an old book-a family legend passed down to him from his great grandfather. The book, called Dragon Seed, leads Nick deep into his family's history and introduces him to another angry young man who lived in the shadows (the shadows of the tombs). Like Nick, you'll be shocked to discover where he fits in this story of epic proportions!
This page-turning, young adult fiction story invites older children and teens into the real-life struggles of Nick. But it also ushers them into an imaginative exploration of the life of the young man Jesus saved as he wandered through the tombs. Best-selling author Marty Machowski uses both stories to introduce the reality of spiritual warfare and how its shadows affect and change us.
Machowski, a trusted teacher for children of all ages, presents a thoroughly biblical view of spiritual warfare that emphasizes the importance of humility and dangers of pride. Teens will be drawn to the story of Nick and his struggles and will learn, as they read, to also identify the shadows in their own life and turn from them. While the biblical teaching is evident throughout the narrative of Dragon Seed, Machowski also includes a twelve-lesson Bible study at the end of the book to help teens ground their understanding of spiritual warfare on biblical principles.
Youth pastors, leaders, and parents will also want to explore with teens the small group study at the end of the book with its unique take on spiritual warfare that emphasizes the biblical theme of humility. This is a perfect book to read with a group and discuss together the implications of Nick's struggles for their lives.

*My Review*
Mr. Machowski's book "Dragon Seed" is the type of book that once you open up the first page and start reading....you can't put it down. At least, that's how it was for me! Dragon Seed is an intriguing story. Even though this book is geared towards teens & young adults I still enjoyed this book, and I see "young adult" as a mindset and not an age category.

I highly recommend this book to all parents/grandparents who are wanting to present the gospel to their older children/grandchildren. Included is devotion on pride in the back of the book that is linked to the story.

Marty Machowski is the Family Life Pastor at Covenant Fellowship Church in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, where he has served on the pastoral staff for over 25 years. Marty leads Promise Kingdom, the children's ministry of Covenant Fellowship. He is the author of a systematic theology for children entitled "The Ology," "Long Story Short," "Ten-Minute Devotions to Draw Your Family to God," "The Gospel Story Sunday School Curriculum" and the companion "Gospel Story Children's Bible." He and his wife, Lois, and their six children reside in West Chester, Pennsylvania area.

{{Product Review}} | Cute & Young Bath Bombs

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free or heavily discounted. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I was recently contacted and asked if I would review this product for a (heavily) discounted price. I've always wanted to try "Bath bombs", so I said "yes". It was a plus that these bath bombs were made with 100% Pure Natural & Organic Oils.

I was so excited for these bath bombs to arrive that I even went out to get the supplies to a new crafty bathroom decor to store them on.

When the package arrived, I opened it right away and saw this little note.

I absolutely love the way these bath bombs are packaged up. You can smell them as soon as you open the box. They are wrapped in different shades of purple wrapping paper & under that they are sealed by plastic.

I have been under an extreme amount of stress lately & I just knew that these would help with the stress and anxiety. I chose to do the "get lucky"(based on smells) on Sunday night. We have a huge garden tub in our bathrooms, so I ready for my nice hot bath to relax and be able to get some awesome sleep.

These bath bombs come as an assortment of six (6)- 4.2 oz (they are HUGE!) below you will find the names of the different bath bombs that you receive.

Running the bath so I can put the bath bomb in.
Sweet Dreams – With an incredible blend of Lavender, Chamomile, Sunflower & Sandalwood Oil, it produces a relaxing & calming effect, and helps in release of natural melatonin for better sleep

Lush Life – Black Pepper & Eucalyptus Oil offer warming & stimulating effect that invigorates your senses & prepares you for a wonderful evening

Get Lucky – Enhance your mood or of your partner using the Sweet Orange Oil & Bergamot Oil – you might get lucky!

Don’t Worry – Turn worry & anxiety into happiness & pleasure with Peppermint oil, Rosemary Oil & Juniper Oil

Feeling Good – Let the blend of Palmarosa, Rose & Ylang Ylang Oil unleash its aromatherapy magic – uplift your mood

Fix You – Blend of Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Rosemary & Eucalyptus Oil works like an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory agent, helps prevent infections & bacterial growth, and helps overcome depression.

While using the bath bomb on Sunday night, my skin felt so silky smooth, & the smell was amazing. In fact, my whole bathroom is full of the different scents because I have them on that display. I was worried that some of these scents would cause a headache as I am very sensitive to certain scents.

Anyway, I used the bath bomb on Sunday night, woke up Monday morning in extreme pain. I was sweating, shaking, nauseous, & dizzy were just a few of the symptoms that I had. I eventually had to go to the ER because of the pain. We did different tests & the Dr said it was caused by the bath bombs. We are thinking it was because of the Epsom salt & the dead sea salt.

Both Epsom Salt & Dead Sea Salt are known to get rid of toxins/bacteria..but maybe since these bath bombs are so big...they washed away the wrong things that my body needs. I honestly don't know if that is what caused it, but all I know is that I was fine during the weekend and woke up in so much pain on Monday.

I am in no way saying these bath bombs are bad, I'm just saying they aren't for me. Because I was sent these bath bombs to review (& because I'm stubborn), I used a grater and grated one of the bath bombs and only sprinkled a little bit into my bath water a few nights ago. That seemed to work fine. Maybe they are just too big to use for our tub (even though our tubs are huge).

I just want to say be cautious of any bath bombs (not just this brand) you purchase and use & if you ARE able to use products like this...then give "Cute & Young bath bombs" a try. They really do smell amazing and leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed afterward!
