Buster’s Ears Trip Him Up: When You Fail

*Disclaimer* I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

*I loved reading "Buster's Ears Trip Him up" with my 7 & 8 yr old daughters. I love that this book encourages children to a growing relationship with Jesus.

In the back of the book, there is a section for parents that will help with when helping their children with failure. Some of the things mentioned in this section include;

1) Failure is hard, but Jesus will help.

2) Having the wrong goal will trip us up.

3) Being "the best" Vs. "trying your best"

and more!

Also included in the back of the book is a page called "Back Pocket Bible Verses"

Make sure you grab a copy of this book for your child(ren) and read it with them!

Good News for Little Hearts is a new series of hardback, illustrated children’s books for three-to eight-year-olds—each centered on an animal family—bring gospel help and biblical counsel to families. The animal characters, colorful illustrations, and the real-life issues each animal family face will captivate children. The first three books address anxiety, anger, and failure, bringing biblical help and hope to issues every child faces. The last page of each book contains information for parents on how God, in his Word, helps children apply biblical truth to specific issues. Together children and parents will be guided by the stories into meaningful conversations about living by faith in the details of everyday life.

- Each story, based on a different animal family, will keep even the youngest child engaged.
- Brightly colored, fun illustrations welcome children into a detailed animal world.
- Each story helps children process a challenging situation with concrete, grace-based, help.
- Instead of moralism, children are offered a practical way to follow Jesus through a difficult situation.
- Based on CCEF’s model of hope and help that encourages a growing relationship with Jesus.

Buster was sure he was the fastest bunny in the meadow. But during a race at summer camp, nothing goes as planned and Buster gets tripped up. After his epic fall, his older sister, Ivy, helps him see that failure is an opportunity to grow. As Buster remembers God’s love, he is able to let go of others’ opinions and accept that it is okay to try your best but not always be the best. Edited by Edward T. WelchBuster’s Ears Trip Him Up: When You Fail ends with a special section that guides parents in teaching children how the gospel of Jesus Christ comforts and sustains us through failure and turns our focus away from ourselves and toward others. Also included is a tear-out page of Back Pocket Bible Verses that will remind children and adults of God’s love and help for those who get tripped up.

Simply Earth Essential Oils - Halloween Candle

Hello again my lovelies! I’m back with another fun Halloween themed item to make from Simply Earth Essential Oils! This time we’re going to me making a candle. Keep reading to find out how to make this for yourself!

Items needed:
-Rosemary essential oil
-Citrus burst essential oil

-2 oz all natural soy candle wax

-2 oz jar (I picked up a cute candle holder from the dollar tree)

The directions say to use a double boiler to melt the wax, but I used an empty Manson jar and melt the wax in the microwave for 5-10 seconds at a time until it was melted. Once the
wax was melted, I poured a little bit of wax into my holder and put the wick into the melted wax and held it in place
until it was set.

Once the wick is in place, I added ten (10) drops of rosemary essential oil into and twenty (20) drops of the citrus burst and melted wax and gave it a stir. Once both oils were mixed, I then poured the wax into the candle jar I bought & trimmed the wick to the length that needed it.

INDIVISIBLE - In theatres 26, Oct. 2018!

INDIVISIBLE is the extraordinary true story of Army Chaplain Darren Turner and his wife Heather, whose lives are fully devoted to serving God, family, and country. But when war etches deep battle scars—both overseas and on the home front—the Turners’ rock-solid marriage is shaken to its core.
Carrying burdens the other can’t comprehend, they must decide if they’re willing to face one more battle: the fight to save their marriage. From the director of The Grace Card and the studio that brought you Fireproof and War Room comes INDIVISIBLEthe story of one marriage … one family … under God. Starring Sarah Drew, Justin Bruening, Jason George, Tia Mowry, and Madeline Carroll, INDIVISIBLE opens in theaters October 26.

*I had the chance to pre-screen this movie, and I was SO excited to do so after watching the trailer. It looked like an amazing movie. I was only able to watch a small amount of the movie before having to shut it off. MY husband is Ret. USAF, so I do have (some) PTSD from that.

I was able to get to the scene where they leave for deployment & that’s when it got to me. I had a flashback to our first deployment & I remembered the things that happened while my husband was gone and didn’t want the chance seeing anything like that in the movie without him home, so I stopped the movie and tried again when I felt that I could get through it...but sadly my anxiety and PTSD prevented that from happening, but this isn’t a review about what happened to us...what I did see, I liked. I do want to see the WHOLE movie with my husband.

Please watch the trailer and even give the movie a go in theaters!*

Simply Earth Energy Roll On

Hello my lovelies, I'm back with another Simply Earth post for you!

I don’t know about any of you, but my energy level has been pretty non-existent lately. Especially homeschooling 3 kids, and going to school (online) myself..as well as caring for the home and pets.

I’m excited to show you how to make this energy roll on using Simply Earth essential oils! Ready? Let’s get started!!

First, you will need the following;

1- Simply Earth roll on bottle
1- Bottle of Simply Earth energy essential oil (just a small amount)
1- Bottle of Simply Earth fractioned coconut oil (again, just a small amount)

Now that we have everything that we need, I took the roll on bottle and took the cap & roll on applicator off.

Once that was done, I put ten (10) drops of the energy essential oil into the bottle and then filled the bottle the rest of the way with the fractioned coconut oil, replaced the applicator and the lid and then gently mixed the oils together.

Once everything is mixed, I just place a dab of the oil on my wrist where I know I'll be able to smell the oils throughout the day.

23andMe Results!!

Growing up I was told I was Scottish, French, German, & Irish....and then when I was 12/13 I found out that I wasn’t blood related to the only family I grew up with. My mom was adopted, so we never knew her family.

I found out who my biological dad was when I was 12/13 but never knew what our family history was until I asked him a few years ago. My dad told me that his side of the family is French (Canadian & Cajun), German, & Native American.

I decided to do the 23andMe test because I wanted to know for sure, and so that I would be able to tell my daughters about my side of the family.

I sent the kit back to 23andMe around the 18th of Sept, they received it on the 21st, and the processed was finished and my results were in by the 28th of Sept. Overall I am very pleased with how little time it took for me to get my results. I will say this though, I CRIED when I read the results...not because it was bad, but because it confirmed what I was told and I learned that I’m more than what I’ve been told!

Read to learn my results?!? Let’s get on with it..
I am 99.8% European! Let’s break that down...

I am 48.6% British & Irish, 35.8% French & German, 2.1% Iberian (Hispanic), 11.5% Broadly Northwestern European (Which means my ancestry could be from as far west as Ireland, as far north as Norway, as Far East as Finland & as far south as France), 0.1% Broadly Southern European (Southern Europe including Iberian, Italian, and Balkan peninsulas as well as the island of Malta), 1.7% Broadly European, and 0.2% East Asian & Native American.

The really cool part of this is that I found out that my mom (maternal haplogroup H3c) was related to Marie Antoinette!!!

I plan on buying my dad a 23andMe kit so I can get my paternal haplogroup as well.

Have you ever used 23andMe? What were your results??
